Reasons Why You Should Add Carrot In Your Beauty Routine

We enjoy the sweet and crunchy taste of raw carrot, or savor it in soups and salads, or even add it to cakes, but how many of us know that carrot can help us look good as well? Carrots contain beta-carotene, which is used by our bodies to synthesize vitamin A. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant whose function is to scavenge free radicals in the body and protect the cells from oxidation. This is how it helps maintain the healthy texture of our skin.

Carrots are commonly available and relatively inexpensive. They pack in several vitamins and minerals that are good
for the skin. Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, the B Vitamins, and potassium are found in plenty in this unassuming vegetable. Vitamin A and Vitamin E are necessary for the maintenance of healthy cell membranes. There are several
advantages of adding carrots to our beauty routine. They can be either eaten or externally applied to gain these benefits. Carrot juice is more effective than eating whole carrots. Carrot seed oil is used as an ingredient in cosmetic
products due to its properties.

The deficiency of vitamin A causes our skin to become dry, wrinkled, and rough. Eating adequate portions of carrots, along with other beta-carotene-rich foods, enables the body to synthesize the required amount of vitamin A. This ensures that the skin is moist and healthy and is also better equipped to fight off infections due to bacteria and
viruses. Carrots can also help ease the symptoms of psoriasis and other dry skin diseases.
Helps heal wounds
According to scientific studies, vitamin A has a curative effect. The lack of vitamin A in the body slows down wound healing. Vitamin C is required for the formation of collagen, the proper functioning of the immune system, and for the prevention of tissue oxidation. Vitamin E has an antioxidant action. Retinol, a derivative of vitamin A, accelerates the growth of new skin cells. This prevents the buildup of layers of old cells that tend to clog the pores of the skin. Retinoic acid, another derivative of vitamin A, reduces the production of sebum and the size of the sebaceous glands, thereby reducing the oiliness of the skin. Carrots also have a detoxifying effect on the liver. So, they are a powerful way to flush out toxins from the body and reduce the development of acne.
